Anti Virus Software

If you have a pc and you access the internet then having Anti Virus Software is the first step everyone should take to protecting your pc and operating system.

Anti Virus Software Programss are the first most important step everyone should take, but dont overlook the need to be protected with additional software such as Ad-Aware and Firewalls.

What is the Best Virus Software on the Market

If you have a coin, toss it in the air and hope for the right choice, because that's exactly what is happening in this area of internet software.

Ok, it's not that bad, but it can be.

The most important thing to realize with Anti Virus Software is not become emotionaly involved with a particular product. Just because you recommended and stood behind a product last year doesn't mean its any good today. In the world of virus protection I have come across so many people who think I am attacking them personally if I say that the software they are currently using is no good.

It's fair enough to say that we all have ego's, and the last thing we want is for our ego's to become bruised. If you have an emotional attachment to virus software because it cost you an arm and a leg, the last thing you want is to be told you blew your money and a useless product.

About 8 year ago I would have told you that Norton was the ducks nuts, and that anyone using any other antivirus software was asking for trouble. Now you would be very unsuccessful even paying me to install it on any of my machines.

Then there was panda, it was great for a while, Kaspersky is a current program thats up and down like a yo yo.

What Anti Virus Program do I use and recommend

The main point to remember with any Antivirus Software is that they are not 100% perfect, and will let through the odd virus here and there until the problem has been resolved.

Its sort of like the old saying "what came first, the chicken or the egg"... Until the virus is found, named and a fix created, there is nothing anyone can do about it, although most virus programs these days are even capable of detecting new viruses and warning you of it,

There is always going to be cowards in back rooms creating viruses to mess with the worlds computers, and its up to those managing the software to come up with resolutions to resolve these threats, and of course its up to the public to keep there programs updated.

I use Nod Antivirus

It has to be one of the best most consistent products on the market. Its not the cheapest product, but getting a ton of viruses and lossing heaps of stuff is not cheap either.

If Nod was not around I would most likely select F-Prot or Avira, I am leaning more to Avira at the moment (but I am not emotionaly attached so that could change)

Avira AntiVir has a free version of the software which you can install on your machines. But for me I would pay the money and grab the Premium Version to ensure that I recieved the maximum protection when I received emails.
